It may not even have been a full year since GJ-bu ended, but nonetheless it has managed to find a place deep within my heart. Continue reading
I love anime, I really do. As such, I watch a somewhat large amount of series every new season. They can all vary from awesome to terrible in quality, yet I usually tend to continue watching them no matter what.
But there are times when I cannot help but feel that enough is enough. Why waste time watching something that is clearly not enjoyable, when you can drop it and watch something far better? Continue reading
With the new anime season recently having started, I figured it was time to look back at what aired during summer.
One thing that struck me as this season ended was how many episode finales surprised me both positively and negatively. Nearly every finale made me react in one way or another I usually do not do.
Often they made me look back at the series and think “Wait, what is wrong with this final episode!?”. Continue reading
I do not normally write hype posts, but this time I cannot help but to do so. It becomes especially ironic since I earlier this month wrote “How Expectations Can Make or Break Anime”, in which I point out that I normally try to have low expectations so I am not let down.
But in this particular case I cannot help but let my expectations get ahead of me. The reason for all of this is Log Horizon, a new anime about people being transported to a video game world. Continue reading
Expectations are dangerous. If they become too high there is a large risk of ending up disappointed with whatever you had expectations of. As a way to counter this I tend to generally have low expectations and not hype too much, which generally means there are positive surprises to be had.
Yet there will still always be cases where you simply cannot avoid setting expectations, only to later on see them be shred to pieces. Continue reading
If you were asked which anime you loved, how would you respond?
This is my answer. Continue reading
Something has been wrong with me lately. There is this little anime I cannot get out of my head. With each new day I think of it more and more. I become all excited and happy about it for no apparent reason.
I think I may have gone mad. Continue reading
The question has almost certainly struck your mind at least once no matter what sort of hobby we are talking about: ”Will I still like this as I grow older?”. It is not a particularly weird question to ask oneself, I for one have asked it over a million of times, but it still hurts a little on the inside when thinking about it.
I mean, is it not a bit sad to stop with something you once put all your heart into? Continue reading
Lesson learned: never do early anime impressions. The tides can turn at any given moment and basing your thoughts on only one or two episodes will most likely not reflect the overall series (even if there are exceptions as always).
Never before have I been this disappointed in the outcome of an anime season since I properly started following the airing anime seasons back in fall 2010. Attack on Titan, Suisei no Gargantia and Hataraku Maou-sama!. These three all had magnificent starting episodes that made me excited about what was to come. But then, when they all hit episode six, something happened. Continue reading
If you have been following the currently airing anime seasons these past few years you may have noticed that since roughly a year ago there has been an increase in a new type of anime: the three-minute anime series. Or, if we are lucky, they may even be five minutes! Continue reading
